First of all: i usually don`t like to write review, since this movie really awful. I felt i need to do this, so you didn`t do the same mistake that i do. Don`t waste your time. Second, i don`t understand the story. What kind of world it is. What faction is? So i just spend my precious 2 hours to watching something that i don`t understand nor the movie try to explain that Third: story very very bad. At the ending, your friends successfully infiltrate the enemy headquarter without even noticed by your enemy. If it`s one or two friends, that`s okay. But this is the whole battalion. WUTTTTTTT??????!!!!!!

When the end credits began to roll, I was given a fleeting look by the people sitting next to me in the cinema. They were probably checking to see if I was still alive; such was my horror and, quite frankly, disbelief, I had not moved from the same position for at least an hour. A wide-opened mouth, bulging eyes and clenched fists on the armrests at my sides. No, I was not enamoured with the movie. No, I did not find the scenes of bondage shocking. I had simply lost the will to live. One might remember a famous novel by a famous author, `1984`. Until I walked out of that movie house, I didn`t know what had spurned Orwell`s mind in the creation of his dystopian society, but now I have a vague idea. Orwell wasn`t afraid of being stalked by the government - he was terrified that future society would become the way it is today. I`m not referring to high-octane sexual fantasies, because we all have our own desires and it`s not my place to judge. No, what Orwell envisaged, surely, is acting so terrible, movies so poorly made and producers so incompetent, that the likes of Hitchcock and Bogart are probably turning in their graves. With laughter. Fifty Shades of Grey is a mediocre work by a laughable author of FanFiction, meaning that without the abysmal Twilight series, the TRULY abysmal movie that I have suffered through today could not have existed. Someone get me a DeLorean and a Flux Capacitor; it`s time to right a few wrongs. There is only one sure-fire way to improve this catastrophe and that is, quite literally, with fire. Burn it. Burn it all to ash and spread the cinders across the resting ground of Cthulhu. Without this worthy sacrifice, surely the monster will rise up to wreak havoc upon us deserving mortals. All in all, I have only one recommendation for the people who will, inevitably, be dragged (ironic term, given the movie) to the cinema/theatre to watch this complete abomination: therapy. Years and years of therapy. But avoid the groups. Once you see Mr. Grey`s `desires` for yourself, you`ll probably be afraid to stand in the same room as another human being for, oh, several hundred millennia. And there`s worse to come: rumours talk of a trilogy, to keep things up to speed with the `books`. What`s that sound? Oh, it`s just the splatter of the blood I`m currently weeping. I`m sure that`s unrelated... Right? Guys? Oh...

By the third time a helicopter flew into view, I was exhausted, and dreaded the prospect of yet another interminable and unconvincingly rendered crash scene. The plot was an unappealing mess of recycled ideas. This film brings us yet another revenge story about someone who shares history with Bond but has since turned evil. That was precisely the plot of the last movie - and rather like the last three Star Trek films, most Batman films, the Superman reboot, this year`s Avengers, etc. Like last time, the stakes are raised by nebulous and non- frightening, yet world threatening (so we are told, but never shown) computer network technology. The film once again focuses on the question: "are spies still relevant?" I don`t find that to be an interesting premise for a Bond film. Why not just assume that the answer is `yes` and make a fun and smart action movie with a heart? Casino Royale nailed this. If you really must cover the question of whether your main character is relevant, then at least deal with it once and accept the answer! In Skyfall we learned that you still want a man in the field. In this movie, we learn that you still want a man in the field (and, in case anyone was still not getting it, poor Ralph Fiennes in his role as a flaccid M spells it out literally). While I liked both actors involved, I didn`t care for the romance - the movie desperately wants to build it up to be something more than an just another Bond girl. That is an admirable idea, but since the result pales in comparison to the stellar romance in Casino Royale, it seems totally unconvincing when Bond sacrifices his entire career for her at the end. Holy moly - Bond settles down? For THIS girl? What an ending to Craig`s character arc that started with Vesper`s death (so much more meaningful than anything in any of the other Craig Bond films). Bam, all his emotional problems are solved, because he met a hot blonde. "I`ve got something better to do than all this!" (throws gun away, gets into car with whatshername). Gee, great ending. All the interesting plot developments from Casino Royale and (and even Quantum of Solace to some extent), such as Bond`s emotional state after losing Vesper and the Quantum organization, are chucked out the window. Skyfall discarded Quantum in favor of a good idea (Bond/M son/mother relationship) and a bad one ("is MI6 still relevant?"). Now, Quantum is back... Kinda. This time, it forms no threat at all - you see, it turns out this OTHER organization that THIS movie is about is even moar powerfuller. And it was really this other, super duper evil organization all along. Muahaha! That is a tiresome plot twist if ever I`ve seen one. It completely missed the mark for me; it`s weak to try and make your own plot look better by retroactively stating that all villains of the previous movies were really just pawns in this guy`s game of chess. And that`s not the only aspect of Bond history that is severely diminished by this film. In Skyfall, we learned about Bond`s youth, spent with an old Scottish dude named McAngus. I think. And, of course, his relationship with M. This time, however, it turns out that Bond actually grew up in the Bavarian Alps with a couple of yodeling Germans named Oberhausen. Errr? Am I the only one confused here? (Possibly.) Bond turns out to have a sort of surrogate brother, who is very blond, very German, and very jealous. Oh and he also happens to be a supervillain, with an enormous army, who somehow managed to stay absolutely hidden for all these years. There is a powerful and compelling reason for his having all these skills and resources: it`s convenient for the plot. And so, all previous Bond movies are reduced to one large scam operation, a plan by an Alpine superhero that makes absolutely no sense, in a failed attempt to give this movie a great villain. Christoph Waltz is a joy to watch, but he is never allowed to be a real threat. The man gets little to work with, as did Javier Bardem in the last one - criminally underused, awesome actors. The film`s tone was confusing. There is one gruesomely violent scene involving eyeballs - I don`t enjoy seeing such aggressive violence, although here I seem to be in a vanishingly small minority. Call me old fashioned, but I was always happy that Bond films used polite violence: gentle fist fights until one guy faints, or perhaps someone shoots a gun and somewhere else, far away, someone falls to the floor. Putting my personal feelings aside, it was jarring to have this scene be followed up by a cartoonish fist fight on a train, after which the eye-ripping guy is yanked out of a train by a rope, but not before realizing his predicament like Wile E. Coyote hanging over the ravine and saying "shit!". Is this a corny spy movie with train fights a la Bond vs Jaws? Where Bond leisurely glides a crashing airplane around for a few minutes and then humorously lands precisely on top of the bad guy`s car? Or is it a somber drama about an aging man`s career in a time when nobody knows whether spies are still relevant? Or does it want to be a raw, violent gangster film like Goodfellas, reveling in the sight of bad guys proving their credentials by maiming others? Finally, I found the camera work jarring in many action scenes - shaky cam, etc. This may have been (partly) due to my sitting in the fourth row, though.

What summed this film up for me was the comments of my non-HP book reader wife and friend. "Didn`t really understand it". The JKR books are full of "tells" and explanations, with sub-plots taking on great significance later on. The book of Goblet of Fire is central to the denouement of many of these - and in the main they are left out of the film version in favour of action and CGI. That said, it was not all bad, so I`ll highlight what I liked first! The teenagers` awkwardness as they explore their relationships, and the way this was handled in the build up to and the actual Ball scene. Hermione in particular was well portrayed, and Ron and Harry sitting like wallflowers while the rest of the school dance the night away was well done. The look on McGonagall`s face when she sees Ron`s dress robes - priceless. The Moaning Myrtle scene in the Prefect`s bath is excellent, funny and well acted. Mad Eye Moody was excellent, convincing and menacing. The opening scene showing the splendour of the Quidditch stadium was breathtaking. The graveyard scenes at the end were well done, and close to the book. Ralph Fiennes was excellent, if a little too "strong" to be credible so soon after his rebirth. What did they do badly? Quite a lot actually. I realise how hard it must be to condense this long book into a 150 minute movie, but overextended scenes could have been shortened, and 20 minutes extra to cover some key current and future story lines would have been time and money well spent. Dumbledore is mad! What has Gambon done to him? Would Richard Harris have grabbed Harry by the neck and shaken him, shouted at him? Would Harris be mumbling and doubting of his abilities, such that there is now almost no credibility that Voldemort should ever fear him? No. And neither does the Dumbledore of JKR. No muggle taunting and no house elf in the Quidditch world cup scenes, meaning no explanation of the purpose of the riot and burning of the tented village, and no set-up of Bartie Crouch Senior as a key character. No mention at all of SPEW. The dragon fight scene is ridiculously long, and ridiculously expensive. Harry flies right out of the stadium, chased by the Norwegian Horntail on a trip to demolish large parts of the castle roofing tiles. The dragon can fly, for goodness sake - why would it spend 2 minutes climbing across rooftops to get to Harry when it could fly out and blast him from the air? The characterisation of the new characters is poor - Fleur, Viktor and Cedric are all just cardboard cutouts for Harry to battle against. The omission of almost all the interaction between Harry and Sirius, so crucial to the next two films. Make you wonder whether the film makers have actually read all the books. The absence of any reference to Hagrid`s half-giant heritage (subtly alluded to in one scene with Madam Maxime, but only if you know what you`re looking for) which is so important to his role in the next film No mention of the Minister For Magic`s denial of Voldemort`s return, nor his act of bringing the dementors to kill Bartie Crouch junior before Snape can use Veritas serum to make him confirm Harry`s story - both key to Dumbledore`s flight in the next book, and setting up for Umbridge to wreak her havoc. A messy treatment of the Snape/Karkaroff relationship and history, again failing to set up the future doubts we have about Snape, who is still mainly just portrayed as a nasty teacher rather than key character of the 6th book. The acting. Sad though I am to say it I thought most of the acting was poor in this film, especially from Emma Watson (who I`ve always thought was the best of the young actors) and Rupert Grint. To be fair this is probably more due to their hugely diminished parts in this film, but that aside I feel Hermione is portrayed more as Harry`s mother figure, rather than the super-clever heroine who Harry can always rely on to get him back on track. The Rita Skeeter storyline is shallow, with no set-up for the essential article in support of Harry, and no mention of her being an illegal animagus, and thus no capture and blackmail of her by Hermione. The Maze is transformed from testing puzzles and magical scenarios that the 4 Champion`s could reasonably expect to figure out/defeat, to a series of menacing hedges and roots that becomes the entirety of the final test. The winner just needs to be luckier and faster than the others - leaving no avenue for true Wizarding contest, nor for Moody`s sabotage of Fleur and Viktor`s efforts. Finally (though I could go on) I was amazed that a director of Newell`s status and past history should make Fleur such a lame character, fit only to be dressed in a skimpy swimming costume, and swiftly fail, with no explanation, in all the tasks. As I`ve said, I sympathise with how hard it must be to condense such a long book and not miss out big chunks of it - and I think they did that quite well with the start - but I do feel they erred too much on the side of spectacle and not enough on explaining all the plot twists and lead-ins to the next book. What will non-book readers make of it all! Tony
As time goes by, I`ll always appreciate my Grade 10 English class (1984-85), taught by Mr. Terry. Looking back, it`s probably the year that I was introduced to the most great literary works of all my life (especially `Anthem` by Ayn Rand and `Nausea` by Jean-Paul Sartre). Included that year in the course`s curriculum was Anthony Burgess` dystopian masterwork, `A Clockwork Orange` (as well as George Orwell`s `Animal Farm`--like Frank Sinatra would have said, `It was a very good year`). I was mesmerized with it from the instant I noticed the unique approach to language, the `ultraviolence` and of course, the eternal question of free will, its relationship to good-and-evil, and the can of worms of the myriad of ethical dilemmas that comes to the fore of individual freedom and rights versus that of society at large. The genius of Burgess was being able to put so well and forcibly, yet in such an entertaining way, so many issues that, had most anyone else set forth on the endeavor, would have come up with the type of off-putting, heavy-handed sermon that would never have reached such a literary pinnacle, and been required reading even now, generations later. It hasn`t aged or dated a day. Most cinematic observers felt the book unfilmable. Director Kubrick`s adaptations work so well, particularly this, `2001: A Space Odyssey` and `The Shining` (even though Stephen King would fervently disagree about the latter) because he, as he did with `Dr. Strangelove`, can so easily both find unforgettable visual metaphors for his ideas and so handily combine humour (an under-recognized trait of his, much more readily associated with say, Sir Alfred Hitchcock) with these heavy and daunting philosophical and intellectual volleys. In the wrong hands (particularly a Stanley Kramer, or his ilk), this could have failed miserably, like typical cinematic treatments of Ayn Rand novels. But this worked triumphantly, and heartily exemplifies one of the greatest directors ever at the apex of his craftsmanship. No self-respecting cinephile can avoid this movie, and I heartily recommend you to read the novel as well, though Kubrick nails it so effectively, reading the novel isn`t necessary in the slightest for the film to be enjoyed. One of the many `gamechanger` films of Kubrick`s extraordinary career.
SYNOPSIS: Demonic gang-leader Alex goes on the spree of rape, mugging and murder with his pack of "droogs". But he`s a boy who also likes Beethoven`s Ninth and a bit of "the old in-out, in-out". This is by the most boring movie I`ve seen this year. The production company just want to squeeze money out of people like me who apparently had nothing to do this Saturday afternoon but to watch a movie that maybe is okay~~ Alright, let me simply tell u why this is complete crap. Story is non- existent. Loop wholes as big as Twilight. Boring emotional scene with lame monologue.I think a law should be passed to forbid producing so many sequels for a single movie. It just make use of people`s desire to finish something and the recognition from the first.. Frankly I would rate this movie zero star if I can. Yup, one more thing, Jennifer Lawrence performance was actually OK. But it is obscured by the laughable lines and story telling.

Andy Serkis can do it all without drawing much attention or praise to himself. He can act, great voice actor and he`s proven that he can direct. Even though they did the remake of The Jungle Book two years ago and I almost always hate remakes so close together. I would gladly say that I am wrong about this one. It was done perfectly and was a completely different spin on it. I would be glad if Andy got another chance at directing another Disney movie, Great job with this one!!!

A good deal better than I thought it would be. Critics hate it because of it`s cliches but they don`t understand that the whole point of doing something that has been done before is to show how you make it different. The firefights weren`t elaborate (it`s not BulletStorm) but the simple act of shooting was top-notch in terms of movies. I was reminded of a 3rd person shooter game when in a later battle he sticks to cover and reloads. This happened a few times and was cool because some movies forget to reload. One of the greatest moments was when there`s the finale explosion and the patriotic theme song plays. And Morgan Freeman makes a good point at the end about foreign policy. "Some say this would have never happened if we minded our own business but that`s not true. We know that it`s better to do something than to do nothing"

OMG, I was so expecting an high sixty or low seventy movie, I loved it. The writing, the acting, was great. The way the two main women characters played against each other was brilliant. The movie was much funnier than I expected and a lot less of a thriller. I walked out of the movie with my friend who dragged me out to see it, and we were both amazed about how we both underestimated the movie, both really enjoyed it. I hope people give this movie a chance, and then give this movie the reviews it deserves.

This Noirish WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES throws toppings such as The Twelve Steps and a homeless philosopher waif over its circle of bad cops, bad narcs, bad drug lords, and bad kidnappers. Some characters are labeled explicitly as gay men, and these are endowed with stereotypical traits that make John Wayne Gacy and Jeffery Dahmer seem like Eagle Scouts in comparison. Liam Neeson plays his usual self, except this time all his extraneous family-members-in-danger baggage is stripped away. This puts the audience more at ease, because a finger here and a finger there isn`t going to affect the concert pianist future of anyone about whom Neeson`s Matt character gives even one hoot. Seeing this flick is like calling your favorite pizza joint, and ordering "the usual." Please pass another slice!

Well what can I say, I was forced to see this by my daughter, we wanted to see the new Dracula untold, I thought the idea sounded OK until the movie started that is, it was quite boring to say the least. No one entered the maze until a fare chunk of the movie had already passed, the title should of been called "field talker" because that`s what they did for the most part. I can`t fault the acting or camera work but I can fault the script, seems like its just another teenage book made into a movie to cash in on the craze of making movies from books, (it`s long been suggested that Hollywood has no original ideas left and copy books and movie ideas from foreign movie makers) To add to my disappointment the movie didn`t end but pretty much says to be continued, what? I sat through this crap for them to tell me that I`m up for another $8.50 to see what happens next, The guy from "meet the millers" who`s also in another great new (English) movie called "plastic" should be ashamed of being involved in this commercial drivel. Average rating of 7.4 what!
